Job Description/Requirements. Responsibilities include: Identifying and building relationships between the organization and fishing communities. Communicating with partner communities (translating, setting up meetings, getting to know individuals in partner communities). Assessing the development needs of fishing communities. Collecting data on activities of communities. Understanding and learning about the communities in-depth. Forming and managing committees for child protection. Working with initial investigations of masters/trafficked children. Assisting with investigations throughout the country. Writing Social Enquiry Reports. Meeting and collaborating with the various Departments of Social Welfare as needed. Sensitizing fishing communities on Child Protection Laws, especially Laws on Child Trafficking. Engaging and mobilizing communities in support of the mission and projects of the organization. Assisting with community development and aquaculture projects as needed. Qualification and Requirements: A Diploma or Degree in Development Studies, Social Work or any related discipline with 1-year work experience in Community Development and/or Child labor and Trafficking Eradication projects. Possess proven ability in problem-solving and critical thinking. Possess proven skills in community mobilization, management and development. Must have good interpersonal, planning, social investigation, communication, organizational and report writing skills. Must be fluent in Twi and Ewe languages. Must be a team player. Must be good at Microsoft Word and Excel and familiar with the use of Google Drive. The position is contract-based with the opportunity for a permanent position based on the performance of the officer. Please indicate your current location in your cover letter.
