About the Role: The regional manager for Anglophone Africa's role is a unique opportunity to bring about reforms in the governance of natural resources through the delivery of impactful programs and contribute to lasting public benefit to citizens. The regional manager will be a critical resource to coordinate strategic programs across Africa including building innovative initiatives, providing program management support to teams, strengthening the development and implementation of program management tools and practices across NRGI's Africa portfolio, and driving evidence-led, value for money programming that ensures achievement of overall goals. Additionally, the jobholder will have a key focus on Anglophone Africa countries (Ghana, Nigeria and Uganda), by leading the country teams to define and implement strategic reform agendas, which includes identifying the right agents of change, engaging strategically with prominent leaders, and influencing policy and adoption of leading practices. S/he will oversee the design and implementation of country strategies, manage NRGI's senior officers in Anglophone Africa, provide managerial and technical oversight and ensure successful execution of impactful programs. S/he will lead reports that capture lessons learned from our engagement and the changing political economy to inform our work at the regional level and global levels. With a strong background in program management and governance, s/he will support impactful, innovative programming through excellent high level program coordination and ensure proper allocation of resources in line with donor grant requirements. The role will require a very strong results orientation and attention to detail, highly developed skills of prioritization to manage a diverse and complex portfolio, strong communication skills both written and verbal, and relationship development with colleagues and a broad range of global, national, and local level stakeholders in Africa. The jobholder will work in concert with the Francophone Africa regional manager to advance learning, advocacy, monitoring, and communication of the Africa program.
